This section of my site is the start of a series of pages on how to use your Palm™ Handheld with Mac OS X. I've created several tutorials and I also point you to other tutorials and info.

How to switch the install destination between your Palm handheld or its SecureDigital (SD) Card

Memory permitting, you can easily switch the destination, controlling whether it will install on your PalmOSs Handheld or SecureDigital (SD) Card.

Step 1:

This is your starting point. It's the install window that opens up when you either double-click a .prc or other installable file or when you choose Install Handheld Files from the HotSync menu (while in the HotSync Manager application).

Notice that the Destination column tells you whether the file will be installed directly into your PalmOS Handheld or onto your optional SecureDigital (SD) Card.

Step 2:

Click the Change Destination button.
This brings down the Change Destination sheet as shown here.

Step 4:

Click once on the file whose destination you wish to change.

Step 5:

Click the appropriate Change Destination arrow to move the file from the Handheld column to the SecureDigital (SD) Card column.

Step 6:

The file now appears under the desired colum.

Just click OK.

Now all that's left is to perform your HotSync. Of course, you have to have an SD card in your Handheld in order to install to one.
