This is me, pretty much just out of college, working as a summer relief engineer
at WFSB-TV in Hartford, CT.

I was the second female engineer — and boy was a female not wanted!

The "guys" pulled every sabotage they could think of...
refusing to help me so I had to do mic checks myself, which required being in 2 places at once,
removing batteries from mics minutes after I'd done the mic check...
pulling stunts and spreading the word that I'd done them...

NOT fun!
But I didn't break.

And finally, one young man cared about the toll it was taking on me,
admitted it all,
and told the others to call it off.

When asked to stay on permanently, I turned the job down.
The summer was quite an education though.
