Thomas Street School was founded on September 11, 2000. While we may be new, we know the business of education. All students learn how to use GoLive 5 from Kindergarten so that homework can be totally web-based. We feel this is the best effort in the nation toward solving the rainforest problem by almost completely eliminating the need for paper. Even our classwork is presented through html pages viewed on our private LAN and each classroom is equipped with state-of the-art computers and peripherals.

Every teacher has undergone intensive training under the tutelage of Deborah Shadovitz, GoLive 5 Expert. With 20 computers in each classroom, rotation of computer time is not necessary.

We have also found that by converting our sing-a-long music to mp3 format, the class can sing songs in a karoke environment with headphones which greatly improves every child's confidence as no one can hear if one is singing off-key.

Our teachers are much less stressed as they quickly spell check and grammar check classwork and homework to pinpoint individual student weaknesses and focus on improving performance. With their expertise in using GoLive5, they can create additional study aids to strengthen students' weaknesses.

Discipline, always a necessary evil in the eyes of the students, is quickly addressed by the use of quicktime movies in our private parent notification site. Each parent is given a password-protected directory for parent-teacher communication, as well as progress reportcards and quicktime movies recording discipline and behavior problems.
